Like Assassin\u2019s Creed, Call of Duty<\/a> has become a staple of regular game releases. It\u2019s become a reliable expectation, ever since Modern Warfare revolutionised the online shooter landscape back in 2007. The Modern Warfare 2 remake \u2013 which dropped last year \u2013 is the latest in the franchise, and it\u2019s still proving as popular as ever with new maps<\/a> still being released.<\/p>\n Now that we\u2019re half way through 2023, however, isn\u2019t it about time we got a whole new Call of Duty game? It\u2019s unusual to go a whole year without a new one.<\/p>\n Luckily for fans of the series, it looks like one is on the way. Keep reading to find out all the rumours that have surfaced so far.<\/p>\n At the Summer Games Fest last week, just before revealing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Warzone season 4, host Geoff Keighley revealed that there\u00a0will<\/strong> be a new Call of Duty game in 2023! In his words: \u201cthere\u2019s a new Call of Duty coming this Fall along with Warzone Mobile.\u201d<\/p>\n Although he didn\u2019t provide any more details, we think this is worth getting excited about.<\/p>\n Previously, Insider Gaming exclusively revealed<\/a> that there will be a new CoD game in 2023 \u2014 which goes against what Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier detailed<\/a> back in November 2022.<\/p>\n Developed primarily by Sledgehammer Games, the new Call of Duty title this year is set to be a sequel to 2022\u2019s Modern Warfare 2. It\u2019s now expected that the next CoD game is, in fact, Modern Warfare 3.<\/p>\n Originally, Jason Schreier reported that the next full CoD game will be \u201cby Treyarch\u201d and \u201ccoming out in 2024\u201d.
