Russell T Davies has again been drumming up anticipation for his upcoming Doctor Who<\/a> stories, teasing that the Time Lord\u2019s \u201cgreatest nightmare\u201d is almost here.<\/p>\n The prolific screenwriter is currently in production on Doctor Who season 14, which sees the full-fledged introduction of the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and his companion, Ruby Sunday (Mille Gibson).<\/p>\n Several high-profile casting announcements have been made recently, with Mindhunter\u2019s Jonathan Groff confirmed to be joining the show alongside recent BAFTA winner Lenny Rush<\/a> (Am I Being Unreasonable?<\/a>).<\/p>\n As the latter news broke, Davies issued an ominous statement about what\u2019s coming down the pipeline for the Doctor and his pals, teasing a terrible twist on the horizon \u2013 which could be connected to Lenny\u2019s character, Morris.<\/p> Davies said: \u201cThis is what Doctor Who\u2019s all about: brand new talent from the next generation, and no one\u2019s more talented than Lenny! He joins the TARDIS team just in time for the Doctor\u2019s greatest nightmare, so hold on tight!\u201d<\/p>\n That final comment is sure to get fans theorising about what exactly this \u201cnightmare\u201d could entail, with possibilities ranging from the return of an old foe to the loss of a fallen comrade.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Whatever the case, it seems that Doctor Who season 14 will be one to remember, with a reunion for Bonnie Langford\u2019s Mel Bush<\/a> firmly on the agenda, while Jemma Redgrave\u2019s UNIT boss Kate Lethbridge-Stewart will also have a role.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, we\u2019ve still got a long time to wait for those new episodes to drop, with the 60th anniversary specials coming first \u2013 currently expected in November.<\/p>\n Doctor Who is coming soon to BBC One.
