Jinkx Monsoon, who will soon be seen starring in Doctor Who<\/a> season 14, has spoken about appearing in the long-running show, saying that \u201cwe\u2019re celebrating queer people in the media\u201d and that \u201cwe\u2019re finally taking up our space\u201d.<\/p>\n

Drag queen, actor, singer and comedian Monsoon will be playing a villain in Doctor Who\u2019s new season, who has been described by the BBC<\/a> as \u201cthe Doctor\u2019s most powerful enemy yet\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Variety<\/a>, Monsoon said of appearing in the series: \u201cI haven\u2019t begun filming yet. I\u2019ve been having lots of meetings, costume fittings and talking with the director and the producer about the script. I\u2019ve always loved Doctor Who. It was the one show that my husband and I could agree on.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re celebrating queer people in the media and that\u2019s possibly what\u2019s riling up the GOP (Republican Party) so much. They can\u2019t stand that we are finally getting our room and our position in the world. We\u2019re finally taking up our space and it\u2019s p***ing a lot of people off. And I love it.\u201d<\/p>\n
