Tate revealed the news while appearing on Zoe Ball\u2019s Radio 2 show<\/a> on Friday (16th June), and when asked through a listener email whether Hard Cell would ever be returning, she explained how Netflix had never actually told her that it wouldn\u2019t be coming back.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cI believe\u2026 well, do you know Netflix never actually told me? So I\u2019ve never actually had the call to say\u2026 nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n Ball then said \u201cthat\u2019s just rude\u201d, to which Catherine replied: \u201cIsn\u2019t it just rude? I heard from someone else\u2019s agent. That was nice.\u201d<\/p>\n Netflix has confirmed to RadioTimes.com<\/a> that Hard Cell will not be returning. RadioTimes.com<\/strong> has reached out to Tate for any further comment.<\/p>\n Hard Cell, which debuted last year, was a mockumentary set in fictional prison HMP Woldsley, following the inmates and staff as they attempt to put on a musical.\u00a0 It saw Tate play six different roles, and also starred<\/a> Christian Brassington, Cheryl Fergison and Jola Olajide.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Meanwhile Tate\u2019s new series, Queen of Oz<\/a>, sees her play a member of a fictional royal family, who is sent away to become Australia\u2019s Head of State after she is involved in numerous tabloid scandals.<\/p>\n The series was originally meant to happen years ago, but Tate recently revealed that amongst a number of elements which caused delays<\/a> was a little show called Doctor Who<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tate explained: \u201cIt took a while to develop. Then it got green-lit and COVID happened. Then \u2013 I know I\u2019m not supposed to talk about it \u2013 but Doctor Who happened.<\/p> \u201cSo every time it just kept getting pushed back and back and back. And we ended up not shooting it until last autumn.\u201d<\/p>\n Tate will return to Doctor Who as Donna Noble alongside David Tennant\u2019s Doctor later this year, something which the actress said she thought would never happen<\/a>.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cI don\u2019t think David and I thought for a second we\u2019d ever get another bite of those cherries. And we did.
