Cornish spoke exclusively with RadioTimes.com about her return to the Prime Video spy series. <\/p>
One of the greatest mysteries that hit spy series Jack Ryan<\/a> has ever posed is just what happened to Jack\u2019s love interest Cathy Mueller.<\/p>\n Cathy was a major character in the show\u2019s first season as played by Abbie Cornish, but was notably absent for the show\u2019s second and third seasons, with no explanation given as to her whereabouts.<\/p>\n Now, Cornish is back as Cathy for the show\u2019s fourth and final season, and the star explained to RadioTimes.com<\/a> in an exclusive interview just what it was that convinced her to return to the series.<\/p>\n Cornish said: \u201cI spoke with John on the phone a few months before we started shooting and he had a really great set-up for this season. And I found it really exciting and very enticing and I loved that each character really had a very strong storyline.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cThe idea for him was to create an ensemble experience and I think you really see that when you watch the show. There are all these different branches of things going on, you really follow each different character\u2019s trajectory, so that was really exciting for me.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n In the same interview, Cornish also explained where viewers will find her character at the start of the series, saying that Cathy is \u201cexcited to be reigniting the flame with Jack<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n She also explained that their dynamic is \u201cthe same\u201d in season 4 to how it was in season 1, but that they have \u201clevelled up\u201d in the relationship.<\/p> She continued: \u201cIn season 1 they never really got past level one, in a way. And we come in and they\u2019re just like, \u2018Yeah, we\u2019re doing this, we\u2019re together,\u2019 and they\u2019re there.
