That\u2019s right \u2013 under the watchful eye of host Maya Jama<\/a>, the girls and boys decided whether they wanted to stick with their original partner, or recouple with one of the new contestants thrown into the two villas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While some of the original cast were thrilled to make a new connection, the episode was filled with fireworks as others recoupled with someone new.<\/span><\/p>\n If you missed the ep (what were you doing instead?!), you can catch up all the action with RadioTimes.com<\/a>\u2018s handy recap video.<\/span><\/p>\n Here\u2019s everything that happened in episode 31 of Love Island\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The episode started with the calm before the storm, as the Islanders prepared themselves for the evening\u2019s events.<\/span><\/p>\n While Scott van der Sluis<\/a> told the boys it was \u201cmake or break\u201d for him and Catherine Agbaje<\/a>, Ella Thomas<\/a> \u2013 who was torn between Tyrique Hyde<\/a> and Ouzy See<\/a> \u2013 sighed to the girls: \u201cAs long as we\u2019re honest and own whatever decision we decide to make.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Maya then arrived in the villa, and the contestants gathered around the fire-pit to decide their fate.<\/span><\/p>\n As the new girls stood nervously, each boy took turns to \u2018stick or twist\u2019 with their current partner.<\/span><\/p>\n Up first was Sammy Root<\/a>, who was the only single boy in the villa when Casa Amor came around.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Revealing that his feelings for Jess Harding<\/a> were \u201cquite strong\u201d prior to the week\u2019s events, the project manager ultimately chose to couple up with new girl Amber Wise<\/a> to give her a \u201cfair shot\u201d in the competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The boys couldn\u2019t contain their smiles when Whitney Adebayo<\/a> \u2013 who was left single after Mehdi Edno<\/a> was voted off the show \u2013 returned with Lochan Nowacki. \u201cHe\u2019s really funny and cute and all about me,\u201d she gushed, as he added: \u201cShe\u2019s a firecracker, we definitely have a vibe and I\u2019m liking how it\u2019s going.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Next up was Zachariah Noble<\/a>, who \u2013 while he said he was on \u201cgood terms\u201d with current partner Kady McDermott<\/a> before she left \u2013 unsurprisingly decided to recouple with his previous partner, Molly Marsh<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think I would be an absolute idiot to waste this opportunity, because second chances don\u2019t come around often,\u201d he admitted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n However, the Islanders were shocked to see that Kady had remained single in Casa \u2013 and the season 2 star also looked a bit perturbed not to have been chosen!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI prepared for this,\u201d she said with a forced smile. \u201cI can\u2019t force things with people who aren\u2019t a vibe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI spoke to all the boys in Casa, and the only person I wanted to get to know was Zach. I stayed true to myself, even though it left me vulnerable.\u201d Awkward\u2026\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Next to step forward was Montel McKenzie<\/a>, who had grown close to new girl Tink Reading while Leah Taylor<\/a> was away.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Admitting that his \u201cmind\u2019s been scrambling\u201d but that he had \u201cdecided to go with [his] heart\u201d, Tink was left open-mouthed when he decided to stay with Leah.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The former dancer was thrilled to see Montel was alone when she walked back into the villa \u2013 but their smiles were short-lived after project manager Tink had her say!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Calling Montel \u201cso fake\u201d, she went on to say: \u201cI didn\u2019t think I\u2019d be standing here to be honest. The past couple of days, Montel did say that he had more in common with me than he did with Leah, and the night that we had in bed together wasn\u2019t exactly PG.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Responding to the claims, a defensive Montel replied: \u201cYou can say whatever you wanna say innit. It wasn\u2019t a very difficult decision for me.\u201d But Tink wasn\u2019t having any of it, and answered back: \u201cI just don\u2019t know how you can move like that and stick in a couple.\u201d Eek!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It was then Scott\u2019s turn, and he shared his concerns with Maya prior to Catherine walking back into the main villa.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe were good, but I guess we were still open\u201d, he said, adding that he was surprised that his \u201cfeelings were probably a little bit further along\u201d than he thought.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Complimenting the new girls, Scott revealed there was \u201cone girl [for him] and it\u2019s not changed\u201d \u2013 but the sweet moment turned sour <\/span>very <\/span><\/i>quickly when Catherine walked back into the villa with new boy Elom Ahlijah-Wilson.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Referring to a previous argument when Islanders Sammy and Tyrique had accused him of being a \u201cgame player\u201d, Scott told Catherine: \u201cMaybe some of the opinions around the fire pit the other day were aimed at the wrong person, but f*** it, the game\u2019s the game,\u201d to which Catherine retorted: \u201cIt\u2019s still aimed at you, babe.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The toe-curling awkwardness did subside for a moment as Mitchel Taylor<\/a> recoupled with new girl Abi Moores, but we were plunged back into it when Jess\u00a0returned to the villa single \u2013 and the newly-coupled Sammy looked thrilled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI missed Sammy, but he\u2019s obviously with someone else now and I\u2019m happy for you both,\u201d the aesthetics practitioner revealed, adding: \u201cObviously your head got turned, but I\u2019m happy for you.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jess then said that she had thought \u201cif it was meant to be, then it would be\u201d but perhaps their connection was \u201ctoo good to be true\u201d \u2013 to which Sammy (who had the freshly picked Amber sitting <\/span>right next to him<\/span><\/i>) replied: \u201cDon\u2019t speak too soon and I will talk to you later.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And things were about to go from bad to worse as a smug Tyrique awaited his fate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Explaining to Maya that he and Ella had had \u201ca couple of bumps in the road, but I feel like since them, it\u2019s been plain sailing and we decided to close things off\u201d, Tyrique added that he didn\u2019t \u201cthink anyone would be shocked by [his] decision\u201d and that he was \u201cready to stop downplaying [his] feelings\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So the contestants were absolutely floored when Ella walked back into the villa with Ouzy!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Saying she was \u201ckind of surprised\u201d that Ty stayed loyal as she \u201cthought he might miss the game\u201d, Tyrique then (rudely) said of Ella: \u201cI didn\u2019t really expect it from her, but I guess you were never mine, it was just my turn. I honestly hope it was worth it because we\u2019re done.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Scottish model Ella then tried to appeal to his rational side, explaining that she \u201cgave him time to explore when he wanted to\u201d, that she \u201cnever wanted us to be done\u201d and she \u201cdidn\u2019t know Ouzy was going to be in Casa\u201d. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t mean that it\u2019s over with you in my eyes,\u201d she told him.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But a furious Tyrique was having none of it and instantly replied: \u201cI\u2019m telling you it\u2019s over.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He then told Ouzy, who had awkwardly stood by watching the encounter: \u201cI wish you all the best bro, have a blast.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI was feeling good before but tensions are quite high,\u201d Scottish footballer Ouzy told Maya. \u201cThere\u2019s a reason I\u2019m standing here \u2013 Ella just wanted to explore and see what was best for her.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After causing absolute mayhem, Maya then left the villa \u2013 but the night was far from over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Asking Ouzy what his name was, Tyrique then stormed off and was swiftly followed by his fan-club of boys.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m f***ing fuming, bro,\u201d he ranted. \u201cI knew it bro, I f***ing knew it, I had a feeling. I\u2019m raging.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis is why I don\u2019t f***ing do the feelings thing, it\u2019s why I don\u2019t let people in. I\u2019m a f***ing idiot bruv.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Ella then tried to chat to her former beau, but he walked off and later fumed to the group that he wouldn\u2019t do anything in the villa that he wouldn\u2019t do on the outside \u2013 including taking Ella back.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wish I\u2019d f***ing kissed them all [the new girls], what\u2019s the point. And to bring him [Ouzy] back in my face,\u201d he raged. \u201cI don\u2019t want her [Ella] because she scares me, she\u2019s scaring me, and I do like her so much. I couldn\u2019t wait for this day.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m back outside on my old bullshit\u2026 There\u2019s not a chance in hell that I\u2019m taking her back.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In tears over Ty\u2019s reaction, Whitney and Catherine rushed to comfort their friend and told her that if she wants him back, she\u2019d \u201chave to just now do the grafting and [Tyrique]\u2019s got to learn how to forgive.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOuzy\u2019s a lovely guy and I was true to myself, I was open and I got to know him,\u201d Ella told the Beach Hut. \u201cBut coming back, seeing Ty stood there by himself\u2026 knowing that I\u2019ve hurt him is just not nice.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After telling her friends: \u201cI just know f***ing Ty, he\u2019s not going to forgive me for this s*** now,\u201d Catherine reassured her that \u201c[she] will come out the other end\u201d, while Whitney added: \u201cYou\u2019re gonna get hardened Ty back, the original Ty \u2013 but if you want it to work then you\u2019re going to have to graft.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So will it be too late for the pair, or will Ella bin off Ouzy to win Tyrique back?
