With Gladiator 2<\/a> on the way, it appears to Ridley Scott has returned to his historical epic era \u2013 and there\u2019s never been a clearer sign of this than the first trailer for Napoleon.<\/p>\n

The epic historical film will be released in cinemas later this year before arriving on Apple TV+,<\/a> and\u00a0it sees Joaquin Phoenix play the French emperor.<\/p>\n

He will be joined in the film by Vanessa Kirby as his wife, Empress Jos\u00e9phine, with the story exploring their volatile relationship and Napoleon\u2019s rise to power during the French revolution.<\/p>\n
