The star and producer said she bought Ryan a “present every day”. <\/p>

Margot Robbie has joked that she \u201cbribed\u201d Ryan Gosling into taking on the role of Ken in Greta Gerwig\u2019s upcoming Barbie<\/a> movie.<\/p>\n

As well as starring in the title role, Robbie served as a producer on the highly anticipated film, and in a new interview with the New York Times<\/a> she outlined the strategy she adopted to convince her co-star to sign up.<\/p>

\u201cI just bribed him really,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s the basis of our relationship. \u2018Just come do the Barbie movie, I\u2019ll buy you a present every day.’\u201d<\/p>\n

And Gosling himself confirmed that this really is what happened \u2013 explaining that \u201cThere was suddenly this pink present from Barbie to Ken, every day, for a very long shoot.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt felt unsustainable. I thought this has to stop at some point. There were times on set where I got a Puka shell necklace.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I said] \u2018Thank you very much. You don\u2019t have to keep doing this. I\u2019m sure you have other things to do, like produce a movie and star in a movie, and run a company. And produce other people\u2019s films. You don\u2019t have to keep concerning yourself with this!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
