Samantha Giles is reportedly set to leave Emmerdale 25 years after she first started playing Bernice Blackstock on the soap.<\/p>\n
According to The Sun<\/a>, Giles is calling time on her fourth stint on the show, with the actor set to depart at an as-yet-unspecified time before the year is out.<\/p>\n She has previously quit the show on three previous occasions, first in 2002, then again after a brief return in 2004, and most recently in 2019 after she returned to the Dales in 2012.<\/p> Her current stint on the show began in 2021, and it\u2019s not currently clear if this latest goodbye is intended to be a permanent exit or if she might return again somewhere down the line.<\/p>\n \u201cBernice Blackstock has been in and out of Emmerdale village more than they change the barrels at The Woolpack,\u201d a source was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The comment continued: \u201cShe\u2019s always welcomed back with open arms by ITV\u00a0and fans alike, but it\u2019s now becoming a bit of a running joke.<\/p>\n \u201cIt wouldn\u2019t pay to bet on whether Samantha will one day be back, but for now she will leave the soap later this year.\u201d<\/p>\n ITV declined to comment when approached by RadioTimes.com<\/a> about this story.<\/p>\n In addition to her role on Emmerdale, Giles\u2019 other TV credits include Sally Boothe in the ITV drama Where the Heart Is and Valerie Holden in Hollyoaks<\/a>, while she had a recurring role on Coronation Street<\/a> at the start of her career.<\/p>
