Classic Japanese gameshow Takeshi\u2019s Castle has already been rebooted by Prime Video<\/a>, but now the series is getting a British iteration featuring some very familiar presenters.<\/p>\n

The British reboot of the physical challenge show will officially be presented by The Weakest Link\u2019s Romesh Ranganathan<\/a> and The Curse<\/a>\u2018s Tom Davis, with the series being called Romesh and Tom Take Takeshi\u2019s Castle.<\/p>\n

Davis has been described as \u201ca Takeshi\u2019s superfan\u201d, while Ranganathan has been described as \u201ca fan of watching people fall off things and humiliate themselves\u201d. Throughout the series, they will be guiding viewers through the hilarious and dramatic world of Takeshi\u2019s Castle, r<\/span>ecapturing the essence of \u201890s mayhem.<\/span><\/p>\n

As in previous iterations, the series will see an \u201cattacking army\u201d made up of over 100 contestants attempting to storm the impenetrable Castle: fighting off guards, devils, and giant foam mushrooms along the way. Only the bravest and luckiest will make it through to take on Takeshi himself and potentially bank 1 million yen. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ranganathan and Davis said: \u201cNothing is more magical than a reboot of a successful show from yesteryear, heavy though is the pressure in bringing back the wonder that is Takeshi\u2019s Castle. We are honoured to be bringing back the maddest show of all time to a whole new generation; hopefully they can take away the life lessons we learnt from the original.\u201d<\/p>\n
