A new sonic has arrived. <\/p>

Every new Doctor \u2013 even one with a familiar face \u2013 gets a sonic screwdriver of their own\u2026 and Doctor Who<\/a> is keeping up the tradition for the Fourteenth Doctor.<\/p>\n

The second incarnation of the Time Lord to be played by David Tennant will get his own version of the versatile tool, which was officially unveiled today (Wednesday, 19th July) by way of a special reveal clip, which you can watch below.<\/p>\n\nThe Fourteenth Doctor\u2019s sonic features a rotating head and has a top that opens up \u2013 much like the Eleventh Doctor\u2019s gadget \u2013 but still glows blue, akin to the Tenth Doctor\u2019s screwdriver.<\/p>\nWe\u2019re yet to get an official glimpse at the sonic that will be used permanently by the Fifteenth Doctor, who is set to make his debut as Doctor Who\u2019s lead this Christmas, so it remains to be seen whether he\u2019ll use his predecessor\u2019s or whether another revamp is in the offing.<\/p>\n<div as the Second Doctor and has remained a near-constant part of the series ever since, getting the Doctor out of many a scrape (and many a cell) with its various amazing abilities, including unjamming locks, detonating explosives, performing medical scans and much more.<\/p>\nDoctor Who will return in November 2023 with three special episodes starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble to mark 60 years of the series, with <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/comedy\/sex-education-season-4-release-date\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">Sex Education<\/a> star Ncuti Gatwa\u2019s first episode as the Fifteenth Doctor following over the festive period.<\/p> Gatwa will be joined by <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/soaps\/coronation-street\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">Coronation Street<\/a> star Millie Gibson as <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/doctor-who-season-14-filming-newsupdate\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">new companion Ruby Sunday<\/a>, while it has also been confirmed that composer <a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/murray-gold-doctor-who-return-newsupdate\/"\" target=\""_blank"\" rel=\""noopener" noopener noreferrer\">Murray Gold will be back<\/a> to score the new episodes along returning showrunner Davies.<\/p>\nA string of notable guest stars already confirmed for Doctor Who\u2019s upcoming 60th anniversary trilogy and 2024 season
