\u201cIf I only have radiotherapy I\u2019ll be back on\u00a0Strictly<\/a>\u00a0this season,\u201d she said. \u201cOnce radiotherapy is done there\u2019ll be nothing to stop me, there\u2019s no pressure but Strictly is leaving the door open. It\u2019s having something to work towards.\u201d<\/p>\n Sharing an update on her treatment, Amy told fans during an Instagram Live with cancer charity CoppaFeel!<\/a> yesterday (21st July) that she had received a further cancer diagnosis following additional tests.<\/p>\n \u201cI was originally going to have a lumpectomy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment,\u201d she said (via The Sun<\/a>). \u201cBut then, after my MRI, they found another tumour, so then it changed into a mastectomy and then, after my mastectomy, unfortunately, they found even more tumours.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd my pathology wasn\u2019t what they were expecting,\u201d the dancer continued. \u201cAnd they found another type of cancer and then they told me I needed chemo \u2013 for me that was a massive blow.<\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t in the plan, originally \u2013 and I know the plan you can\u2019t get fixated on.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, all of a sudden, then I realised \u2013 and you get scared, but the oncologist did say that with chemo I\u2019ve got a really good chance of a cure.<\/p>\n \u201cI was really scared and I didn\u2019t want to do chemo.\u201d<\/p>\n Amy went on to say: \u201cFor me straightaway it was my dancing, like, you can take away my boob but you can\u2019t take my dancing away from me and that\u2019s what I get really upset about.\u201d<\/p>\n The Strictly star confirmed that she wouldn\u2019t be partnered with a celebrity on this year\u2019s series, explaining:\u00a0\u201cThis year it means I\u2019m not going to be able to dance with a celebrity on Strictly but I\u2019m in such regular contact with the team. The BBC have just been utterly incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n In a statement to RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Strictly\u2019s executive producer Sarah James said: \u201cWe will continue to support Amy whilst she receives her treatment, and will work closely with her to ensure she can be involved in the upcoming series.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone in the Strictly Come Dancing family is continuing to send all our love and well wishes to Amy.\u201d<\/p> \u201cWe are just one big family and they\u2019re going to be guided by me and there\u2019s so many ways to be involved in the show,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just staying really positive and hopeful that I\u2019m still going to be part of the show in some way and my aim is to continue dancing \u2013 the oncologist said to me movement is really, really good for people on chemo, it\u2019s important.
