Here\u2019s everything you need to know about the long-awaited live-action Cowboy Bebop.<\/p>\n<h2>Cowboy Bebop live action release date<\/h2>\n<p>Cowboy Bebop will be released on Netflix worldwide on <strong>Friday 19th November 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The show was originally set to be released in 2020, but was delayed after star John Cho suffered a knee injury on set, which pushed production back by eight months. Cho is best known for starring in the Harold and Kumar films opposite Kal Penn as well as playing Sulu in the Star Trek reboot. He grew his hair out long to replicate Spike\u2019s signature anime look.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Cage\u2019s Mustafa Shakir is on board the Bebop also as Jet Black, an ex-policeman bounty hunter with a cybernetic arm. They\u2019ll both be joined by Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom actress Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, a woman in excessive debt after spending 54 years in suspended animation.<\/p> <p><a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/sci-fi\/the-boys-season-3-release-date-amazon\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">The Boys<\/a> star Alex Hassell will be playing Spike\u2019s ex-partner and power-hungry gangster Vicious, while Revenge\u2019s Elena Satine portrays Julia, a mysterious woman who has had complicated romantic relationships with both Spike and Vicious.<\/p>\n<p>Geoffrey Stults (Wedding Crashers), Tamara Tunie (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit) and Mason Alexander Park (<a href=\"\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/fantasy\/netflix-the-sandman-release-date\/&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">The Sandman<\/a>) will appear in recurring roles also.<\/p>\n<p>Oh and most importantly, a Welsh corgi actor \u2013 and not a husky as previously rumoured \u2013 will be playing super-intelligent, chess-playing dog, Ein.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"&quot;twitter-tweet&quot;\" data-dnt=\"&quot;true&quot;\"><p lang=\"&quot;en&quot;\" dir=\"&quot;ltr&quot;\">Really hoping the entire season of Cowboy Bebop is shot in Corgi-Vision. <a href=\"\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CowboyBebop?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&quot;\">#CowboyBebop<\/a> <a href=\"\/\/t.co\/C42CLwYswa&quot;\">pic.twitter.com\/C42CLwYswa<\/a><\/p>\u2014 Netflix Geeked (@NetflixGeeked) <a href=\"\/\/twitter.com\/NetflixGeeked\/status\/1181192452440547329?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&quot;\">October 7, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><h2>Cowboy Bebop live action plot<\/h2>\n<p>Cowboy Bebop is based on the renowned anime series of the same name, which ran for 26 episodes between 1998 and 1999.<\/p>\n<p>The series was a neo-noir space western that followed a ragtag group of bounty hunters who tracked down the galaxy\u2019s most dangerous criminals in exchange for money \u2013 known as Woolong \u2013 while trying to escape their own dark pasts.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear how much the plot of the adaptation will differ from its source material, but first-look photos have shown the characters, costumes and sets to be mostly faithful to its anime roots.<\/p>\n<p>The show\u2019s original director, Shinichir\u014d Watanabe, is involved as a consultant, while Yoko Kanno will also be returning to score the series after her work on the anime was highly praised. So, it seems Netflix is trying hard to get this one right after facing criticism in the past for their previous live-action anime adaptations.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"&quot;twitter-tweet&quot;\" data-dnt=\"&quot;true&quot;\"><p lang=\"&quot;en&quot;\" dir=\"&quot;ltr&quot;\">Yoko Kanno, the composer behind the iconic soundtrack of the original COWBOY BEBOP anime will be creating the soundtrack for the new Live Action Series. Also confirmed\u2026Cowboy Bebop is coming this Fall. <a href=\"\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/GeekedWeek?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&quot;\">#GeekedWeek<\/a> <a href=\"\/\/t.co\/6lHZQcoFR6&quot;\">pic.twitter.com\/6lHZQcoFR6<\/a><\/p>\u2014 Netflix Geeked (@NetflixGeeked) <a href=\"\/\/twitter.com\/NetflixGeeked\/status\/1402301557094244352?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&quot;\">June 8, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><p>However, this does not mean the show will be an episode-for-episode remake as co-writer and executive producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach told <a href=\"\/\/gizmodo.com\/how-netflixs-cowboy-bebop-captures-the-spirit-and-style-1843569876&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">Gizmodo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not going to go one-to-one on all of those stories because we\u2019re also trying to tell the broader story of Spike Spiegel and the Syndicate, Spike Spiegel and Julia, Spike Spiegel and Vicious, and all that,\u201d Grillo-Marxuach said. \u201cBut we are looking at the show and saying, \u2018Who are some of the great villains in this show, and how can we put them into this broader narrative?\u2019 So that we are telling both of the big stories that Cowboy Bebop tells.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The original anime ran for only 22 minutes an episode and used a villain-of-the-week formula, so it seems that Netflix\u2019s ten-part series of hour-long episodes will opt for a more serialised approach \u2013 with fan-favourite enemies included, however.<\/p>\n<p>A few elements will be changed for a modern audience though. The show\u2019s famously over-the-top smoking will be toned down, while Faye\u2019s revealing outfit has been scrapped in favour of a more practical getup. Jazz musician Gren has also been reimagined as non-binary for a more modern depiction of gender representation onscreen, with the role is also played by non-binary actor Mason Alexander Park.<\/p>\n<h2>Cowboy Bebop live action trailer<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s no trailer for the live action Cowboy Bebop just yet \u2013 but with the show launching in November, we can expect one any week now.
