Here’s everything we know so far about the BBC’s Celebrity Race Across the World. <\/p>

After the latest season of<\/span> Race Across the World<\/span><\/a> ended, we\u2019ve been left with a giant space in our hearts where the BBC programme once was.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But fear not, because the celebrity version of the show is set to return to our screens very soon \u2013 yippee!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, the cast of Celebrity Race Across the World<\/a>\u00a0was announced by the BBC \u2013 and among them we can expect to see a famous musician, as well as one of our favourite broadcasters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme will see the pairs compete against each other to be the first couple to make it from Marrakech, Morocco \u2013 the most north-western country in Africa \u2013 to the finish point in Troms\u00f8, Norway, known as the Arctic capital. <\/span><\/p>\n

The 10,000km journey will cover 24 countries, including regions in the mighty Alps, unexplored Central Europe, the fairy tale Baltic States, and snowy Scandinavia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celebrity Race Across the World release date speculation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While we still don\u2019t know the exact date that Celebrity Race Across the World will hit the small screen, the trailer was shared at the end of the last season of the civilian version.<\/p>\n

And in March, BBC commissioning editor Michael Jochnowitz<\/a> told RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other press that we\u2019ll be able to feast our eyes on it at some point this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s looking incredible,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s probably more of a traditional race in terms of [the] number of countries that they\u2019re going to travel through. It will be out later this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spin-off series was shot at the end of last year. It was first commissioned in 2019, but filming was pushed back due to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of that year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were weeks away from filming the celebrity Race Across the World and I was having the conversation internally where we were like, \u2018We\u2019re gonna have to pause the show,’\u201d Jochnowitz recalled. \u201cIt was the first big show that had got pulled because of COVID.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember it vividly because we were looking at the map around the world and, at that time, it was going to go via China \u2013 \u2018Well, that\u2019s not going to work\u2019 \u2013 but South America was looking good. So we decided to pause it and [thought], \u2018We\u2019ll be up and running again in a few weeks\u2019 time\u2026’\u201d<\/p>\n
