Neil Gaiman has said that season 3 won’t be confirmed “unless enough people watch season 2 to make Amazon happy”. <\/p>

As well as a brand new batch of season 2 episodes to get excited over, series creator Neil Gaiman has now also teased that season 3 isn\u2019t so much of a far-fetched idea after all.<\/p>\n With season 2 having landed on Prime Video<\/a> today (Friday 28th July), it\u2019s only a matter of time before avid viewers\u2019 thoughts will undoubtedly turn to more episodes of the fantasy series, which follows the adventures of Crowley (David Tennant<\/a>) and Aziraphale (Michael Sheen).<\/p>\n Well, it seems as though season 3<\/a> is all ready to go according to Gaiman, who responded to a question on his Tumblr about the confirmation news of a third outing for Good Omens.<\/p> He wrote (via Twitter<\/a>): \u201cIt won\u2019t be confirmed unless enough people watch season 2 to make Amazon happy. And it\u2019s strike season, which makes everything harder.<\/p>\n \u201cBut obviously season 3 is all planned and plotted and, if I get to make it, will take the story to a satisfying end. If I wasn\u2019t on strike I\u2019d be writing it currently.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cOur set is still standing in a studio in Bathgate and we would all love to get back there and finish the story in the way Terry and I plotted, long ago.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Of course, there\u2019s no telling just when or if Prime Video will renew the series but if it does get the green light, the release date could be a long way off due to the ongoing writers\u2019 strikes.<\/p>\n Neil Gaiman previously revealed that season 2 was written to act as the connective tissue<\/a> between the first season, which was adapted from the story told in the 1990 novel Good Omens and a sketched out plot for a sequel story which he developed with the late Sir Terry Pratchett.<\/p>\n Maggie Service, who plays new character called Maggie<\/a> in season 2, has said that the ending of the second season does not feel like the overall end<\/a>\u00a0of the story.<\/p>\n
