A refreshed version of the 2010 doc The Royle Family: Down the Back of the Sofa will air on Gold later this year. <\/p>

Beloved sitcom The Royle Family is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year \u2013 and it\u2019s just been announced that a documentary special will be airing to mark the occasion.<\/p>\n

A refreshed version of the feature-length documentary The Royle Family: Down the Back of the Sofa \u2013 which was originally shown back in 2010 \u2013 will be broadcast on Gold, offering fans another chance to see interviews with the show\u2019s stars and co-creators.<\/p>\n

The programme includes the only ever paired filmed interview of Craig Cash and the late Caroline Aherne, while there will also be brand new insights from a number of celebrity fans.<\/p>

A variety of figures from the world of comedy including Diane Morgan (Afterlife), Rosie Jones (Rosie Jones\u2019s Disability Comedy Extravaganza), Jamie and Natasia Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) and John Thomson (The Fast Show) are among those to feature.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, there is also input from Rachel Fairburn (Brand New Bonus Mum), Shobna Gulati (Dinnerladies), Jack Rooke (Big Boys), Sharon Rooney (Barbie) and producer of The Royle Family, John Rushton.<\/p>\n
