Heartstopper<\/a> fans will be excited to hear that season 2 ends on a song by Wasia Project \u2013 a band comprised of series star William Gao and his sister, Olivia.<\/p>\n The siblings are both classically-trained musicians and blend this expertise with a pop sensibility on many of their tracks, with \u2018ur so pretty\u2019 being their biggest hit (racking up more than 8 million plays on Spotify<\/a>).<\/p>\n That very song appears on the Heartstopper soundtrack<\/a> at the tail-end of season 2 episode 8 \u2013 titled Perfect \u2013 as Charlie and Nick part ways after an emotional prom night.<\/p>\n Gao had previously downplayed talk of a crossover between Wasia Project and Heartstopper.<\/p> He told NME<\/a> in March: \u201cI think there\u2019s a middle ground. We\u2019d love to work with composers or music supervisors in the future, and find a way to marry both projects.<\/p>\n \u201cBut for now, however, I feel like it\u2019s good for me to keep them in separate worlds as I\u2019m having a fun time balancing the two. I\u2019m sure there\u2019ll be a time for them to come together.<\/p>\n Gao added: \u201cImportantly, Wasia Project will always be there for us to come back to and take down different avenues.\u201d<\/p>\n The delicate style and moving lyrics are fitting after a difficult moment for Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor), with the former opening up about the bullying he suffered after being outed at school.<\/p>\n While their relationship remains strong, Nick is worried about Charlie\u2019s mental health, which is reflected in the lyrics: \u201cI\u2019m so scared that the moments we shared \/ Won\u2019t happen again \/ I don\u2019t want this to end.\u201d<\/p>\n Olivia provides vocals on the track, while Will can be heard on the piano.<\/p>\n Heartstopper has become well-known for its killer soundtrack, which also includes the likes of Maggie Rogers, Wolf Alice, Taylor Swift and Let\u2019s Eat Grandma in season 2.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that what we\u2019re doing is part of a niche subculture, and what people like about it is that it\u2019s a true hybrid of sounds \u2013 we\u2019re taking jazz and classical and putting it through a pop lens,\u201d said Olivia Gao about Wasia Project (via NME).<\/p>\n \u201cWe wouldn\u2019t call ourselves jazz artists, but we can be inspired by what those trained musicians do and offer our own perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n Heartstopper seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Netflix.
