We\u2019ve been bombarded with Star Wars games of late, from this year\u2019s Survivor<\/a> to the countless of LEGO<\/a> titles on the shelves. We haven\u2019t seen\u00a0quite<\/em> as much gaming love for rival space opera Star Trek, though.<\/p>\n

Things seem to be changing this year. As well as Resurgence<\/a>, which dropped back in May, Trekkies have another adventure to look forward to. Star Trek: Infinite is an upcoming strategy game in which you can \u201ccreate your own Star Trek story\u201d.<\/p>\n

We think it sounds pretty epic, and hope it\u2019s the start of a Trekkie gaming trend! We\u2019ll share all we know about the game below.<\/p>\n

When is the Star Trek: Infinite release date?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to Steam, the release date is currently \u201cto be announced\u201d.<\/p>\n

The game was first announced at the Summer Games Fest this year, but we\u2019ve since had a rather polished looking gameplay trailer. We hope this means the game is in the late stages, but it\u2019s impossible to know for sure. We\u2019ll update this page as soon as we know the release date!<\/p>

Can I pre-order <\/strong>Star Trek: Infinite<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

At the moment you can\u2019t actually pre-order it, but you can add Star Trek: Infinite to your wishlist!<\/p>\n

Which consoles and platforms can play <\/strong>Star Trek: Infinite<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It looks like Star Trek: Infinite will be a PC and MAC exclusive, especially as the only store it currently appears on is Steam.<\/p>\n

Star Trek: Infinite <\/strong>gameplay and story details<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The gameplay looks to be very similar to 2016 strategy sci-fi game Stellaris. With your chosen faction, you explore various systems and meet civilisations, all while keeping your fleet afloat.<\/p>\n

The story, of course, will be familiar to those who know Star Trek lore. The four playable factions are the United Federation of Planets, Romulan Star Empire, Cardassian Union, and the Klingon Empire. As the trailer says, you\u2019ll be able to \u201ccreate your own Star Trek story\u201d \u2013 so expect a different experience every time!<\/p>\n
