It\u2019s that time of year again when the Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> announcements start pouring in, and we now have two celebs confirmed for season 21.<\/p>\n Angela Rippon was announced to be joining the competition on Friday night\u2019s episode of The One Show, where she discussed being the oldest contestant in the programme\u2019s history.<\/p>\n The veteran broadcaster will turn 79 as the 2023 series hits full swing, and told viewers yesterday that she wants to show the nation that older people can \u201ckeep fit and strong and\u2026 feel a million dollars\u201d.<\/p>\n Rippon joins actor Amanda Abbington, who was the first celebrity to be revealed for this year.<\/p>\n We can expect more celebrities to be revealed over the coming days, with the likes of Love Island<\/a> star Zara McDermott, EastEnders actor Nigel Harman<\/a> and TV presenter, actor, and comedian Les Dennis rumoured.<\/p>\n Rippon will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year\u2019s winner Hamza Yassin<\/a>, who lifted the Glitterball with his professional dancing parter Jowita Przystal<\/a>.
