Kathy makes her first appearance in this week’s episode of And Just Like That, but the actor who plays her also popped up in season 6 of Sex and the City. <\/p>

In episode 9 of And Just Like That\u2019s second season<\/a>, Carrie made the bold move to meet with Aidan\u2019s ex-wife Kathy, who had a couple of things she wanted to get off her chest.<\/p>\n

Firstly, she asked the writer-turned-podcaster not to use her sons as \u201cmaterial\u201d in any of her work \u2013 a fair request. And she also warned Carrie not to break Aidan\u2019s heart once again, which Aidan himself was understandably cheesed off about.<\/p>\n

Carrie, however, took the uncomfortable encounter in her stride.<\/p>\n

That was the first time we\u2019ve met Kathy, but it\u2019s not the first time the actor who plays her has appeared in Darren Star\u2019s fictional world.<\/p>\n

Who plays Aidan\u2019s ex-wife Kathy?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Kathy is played by Rosemarie DeWitt, who also appeared in Sex and the City as a completely different character.<\/p>\n

In season 6 episode 6 (Hop, Skip and a Week) she played Fern, a colleague of Miranda\u2019s who raises concerns about her ability to juggle motherhood and her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cWay to watch my back, Fern,\u201d says Miranda pointedly during a meeting in which her tardiness is flagged.<\/p>

Following that brief performance, DeWitt has gone on to appear in a number of shows and films.<\/p>\n

Her recent performances include HBO-Sky Atlantic true crime drama The Staircase, in which she played Candace Hunt Zamperini, one of Kathleen Peterson\u2019s siblings, and Little Fires Everywhere, the adaptation of Celeste Ng\u2019s book of the same name, in which she played Linda McCullough, the woman who adopted <\/span>May Ling Chow.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also starred in Fox FBI drama Standoff as senior negotiator Emily Lehman, and comedy-drama <\/span>United States of Tara alongside Toni Collette, Brie Larson,<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Keir Gilchrist and none other than Mr Aidan Shaw himself, John Corbett.<\/span><\/p>\n

DeWitt\u2019s CV also includes the Arkangel episode of Black Mirror<\/a>, in which she played a mother who has her daughter implanted with a brain chip that tracks her every move.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also Prime Video<\/a>\u2018s The Last Tycoon, which takes inspiration from the F Scott Fitzgerald novel and stars Matt Bomer and Kelsey Grammer, and miniseries Olive Kitteridge with Frances McDormand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
