Besides the titular couple the comedy was based on, fans have continued to love another couple from the series \u2013 Gavin\u2019s on-screen parents Pam and Mick, played by Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb<\/a>.<\/p>\n Well, now the duo are hitting the road in their very own mini travel series, Alison & Larry: Billericay to Barry, experiencing the highly-referenced journey from Billericay in Essex to Barry in Wales for themselves.<\/p> Across three episodes, Steadman and Lamb will make the 210-mile voyage while stopping off at some great countryside spots and places that hold a personal connection to them \u2013 and they may even bump into some familiar faces on the way.<\/p>\n One of the very first people they meet up with in the first episode in Billericay, in fact, is Russell Tovey, who starred as Budgie in Gavin & Stacey.<\/p>\n Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com<\/a> about their new show, Lamb revealed an interesting anecdote about the original comedy series.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI\u2019d not worked with Russell other than in Gavin & Stacey, but then we found out that the reason it was based in Billericay was because James Corden asked Russell when they were working together on History Boys, \u2018We\u2019ve got this character, we\u2019ve got this thing, where would he be from, do you think?\u2019 and Russell said Billericay.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s it, that\u2019s how Billericay got in it \u2013 but that was about all that Billericay featured. It was just lovely to go and see the place, meet the mayor and meet some of the people \u2013 it was a really great starting point.\u201d<\/p>\n Tovey, who has gone on to feature in dramas such as American Horror Story: NYC, Quantico and The Good Liar, was born in Billericay in Essex and meets up with Steadman and Lamb in the first episode.<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n But in addition to meeting up with old friends along their journey, Steadman and Lamb will take part in activities \u201cdesigned to unleash their inner \u2018Pam and Mick’\u201d, according to the synopsis.<\/p>\n Chatting to RadioTimes.com<\/strong> about what viewers can expect from the three episodes, Steadman said \u201chopefully more fun\u201d.<\/p>\n Lamb added: \u201cTwo friends enjoying whatever crops up along the way. I mean, that\u2019s all it was, because they didn\u2019t tell us what we were going to be doing. They just said, \u2018Right, we\u2019re going to the Cotswolds, we\u2019re going to so and so.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cThey didn\u2019t say what you\u2019re going to do when you got there, and they didn\u2019t say who you were going to meet.
