One of the major things that Whovians are the most excited for is the return of David Tennant<\/a> and Catherine Tate<\/a>. Tennant reprises his role, but as the new incarnation as the Fourteenth Doctor, while Tate returns as loveable companion Donna Noble.<\/p>\n Well, now we finally have another first look at Tennant as the Doctor in a picture shared from Radio Times magazine<\/strong>\u2018s 60th anniversary special.<\/p>\n The new image (above) shows Tennant well and truly back in action as the Doctor, looking as though he\u2019s simultaneously holding up oncoming traffic and being shocked at a mysterious stranger in front of him.<\/p> The new 60th anniversary episodes will be released this November and also mark the return of Russell T Davies as Doctor Who showrunner.<\/p>\n The new era of Doctor Who will be kickstarted with the return of Tennant and Tate, before newcomers Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson step into the limelight in the 14th season of the long-running sci-fi series.<\/p>\n But the new Doctor Who episodes aren\u2019t the only return for Tennant to the beloved franchise, as he has also lent his voice to Big Finish\u2019s brand new audio anniversary special<\/a>, The Martian Invasion of Planetoid 50.<\/p>\n The new episode is the next in the 60th anniversary<\/a> Once and Future audio series, which is due for release this September.<\/p>\n Fans are obviously excited for Tennant\u2019s on-screen return as the Doctor but he\u2019s set to reprise his role as the Tenth doctor in the audio drama first.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Ahead of Tennant\u2019s return, the actor has teased that the Doctor and Donna are \u201cnot necessarily exactly the same versions of themselves as they were\u201d.<\/p>\n Speaking in last month\u2019s issue of\u00a0Doctor Who Magazine<\/a>, Tennant said: \u201cThe Doctor\u2019s been three different people in the meantime, so I\u2019m not necessarily the same version of the Doctor that I was before.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not the Tenth Doctor now, I\u2019m the Fourteenth.
