Moffat is busy working on something, but what exactly could it be? <\/p>

It seems as though Doctor Who<\/a> fans have been doing some serious sleuthing, now determined that former Doctor Who<\/a>\u00a0showrunner\u00a0Steven Moffat<\/a> could very well be returning to the sci-fi series after some social media clues.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s Doctor Who Magazine featured an intriguing\u00a0Production Diary feature written by Scott Handcock. In it, various notes about the production process were outlined for fans, but one specific detail has caught fans\u2019 eyes.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday 5th July, it is outlined that there was another writer\u2019s meeting in the morning but it took place on Zoom as \u201cour writer\u2019s currently on the other side of the planet\u201d.<\/p>\n

Similarly, on the notes for Friday 14th July, it outlines that not only was it Ncuti Gatwa<\/a>\u2018s final day of filming his first season, but that there was \u201can afternoon Zoom with a writer temporarily out of the country\u201d.<\/p>

This has led fans to deduce from Instagram pictures of Moffat<\/a> aboard a yacht on those dates that he very well could be working on Doctor Who after all.<\/p>\n

In one of the pictures shared to Moffat\u2019s Instagram<\/a>, he is seen to be working, with the caption reading: \u201cRule One \u2013 keep your back to the view. #attheoffice<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The theory continues to swirl on Twitter<\/a> (recently rebranded as X), with fans excited at the possible prospect of Moffat returning to the world of Doctor Who.<\/p>\n

One fan wrote on Twitter<\/a>: \u201cMoffat under RTD is usually the best Doctor Who,\u201d while another user said<\/a> the theory is a \u201cfantastic spot\u201d.<\/p>\n

As for whether or not it\u2019s just a happy coincidence that Moffat was abroad and working at the very same time as the unnamed writer in the production diary feature, it remains to be seen.<\/p>\n
