Tim Story directed two previous Fantastic Four films in 2005 and 2007 \u2013 and he’s looking forward to the new MCU version. <\/p>
Recent months have seen a wide variety of casting rumours circulate for the upcoming MCU Fantastic Four<\/a> film, with everyone from Matt Smith<\/a> to Joseph Quinn linked to roles.<\/p>\n But while it remains to be seen who will eventually be starring in the film, one man who you might expect to be especially intrigued is Tim Story \u2013 who previously helmed two Fantastic Four films in 2005 and 2007 respectively.<\/p>\n Those films starred future Captain America Chris Evans alongside Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba and Michael Chiklis. Now, Story says he\u2019s excited to see the latest interpretation of the iconic comic book characters.<\/p> \u201cOne of the things that is so fun for me is that I was \u2013 before I made the movies and afterwards \u2013 a really big comic book fan,\u201d he told RadioTimes.com<\/a> during an exclusive interview to promote his new horror-comedy film The Blackening.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd, you know in the hands of Kevin Feige \u2013 who was on my projects in the beginning as well \u2013 he\u2019s just such a master at what he\u2019s been able to create with filmmakers, that I always just look for it.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, I\u2019m just so interested in what they do next. And I can\u2019t wait to see this new batch of films. It\u2019s gonna be fun!\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Story\u2019s new film arrives in UK cinemas this weekend and tells the story of a group of friends who find themselves trapped with a crazed killer after going away for a weekend to a cabin in the woods.<\/p>\n The film is adapted by Tracy Oliver\u00a0and\u00a0Dewayne Perkins from a short film of the same name, and Story revealed he was convinced it should be his new project as soon as he read the script.<\/p>\n \u201cI remember reading it, and just laughed the entire time,\u201d he said. \u201cBut not just laughed, I also knew that behind every laugh or behind every situation it was just this smart kind of POV.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so I just kind of raised my hand and said \u2018I\u2019d love to direct it\u2019. Because, to be perfectly honest, I was looking for something kind of contained that I could do.<\/p>\n \u201cBut, at the same time, I\u2019ve learned in my career that when something hits you and inspires you and makes you laugh and you see the movie, then you should make it.\u201d<\/p> \n
