Games based on mythology are nothing new, from Kid Icarus to God of War (the latter of which manages to cover\u00a0two<\/em> mythologies \u2013 both Greek and Norse).<\/p>\n The upcoming Black Myth: Wukong isn\u2019t based on a myth per se, but the 16th century work Journey to the West, attributed to the poet Wu Cheng\u2019en. However, it\u2019s refreshing to see an epic AAA game explore Chinese folklore in such a way.<\/p>\n The trailer revealed at Gamescom showed us a beautifully realised world of vast landscapes, enigmatic creatures, and \u2013 of course \u2013 epic boss fights. We also saw the protagonist \u2013 a monkey based on the character Sun Wukong, called \u201cThe Destined One\u201d \u2013 in action.
