A fan favourite character is briefly back on our screens during a flashback scene. <\/p>
Spoiler warning for the episode aired on Tuesday 29th August 2023, which was released on BBC iPlayer at 6am.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n EastEnders fans who have watched tonight\u2019s episode early on BBC iPlayer have hailed the \u201cgenius\u201d return of fan-favourite character Arthur \u201cFatboy\u201d Chubb (Ricky Norwood).<\/p>\n Norwood originally played Fatboy from 2010 until the character\u2019s death in 2015, and his unexpected return comes in flashback scenes that take place in 2014.<\/p> In the scene, he briefly interrupts a conversation between Cindy Beale<\/a> (Michelle Collins) and her witness protection handler DCI Mary Nicholls (Penny Layden) to talk about meeting his friends \u2013 also referencing his friendship with landlady and housemate Dorothy \u201cDot\u201d Branning (the late June Brown).<\/p>\n And viewers were delighted to see Fatboy back on their screens, with one fan calling it \u201can utterly genius move\u201d on Twitter (which has recently been rebranded as X).<\/p>\n An utterly genius move.
