The spin-off of the beloved sitcom How I Met Your Mother will not be returning for season 3. <\/p>

How I Met Your Father, the Hulu spin-off sequel to How I Met Your Mother, has been cancelled after just two seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n

The series, which starred Hilary Duff as a New Yorker looking for love, wrapped up its second season<\/a> in July without revealing the answer to the question implied in the title.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deadline<\/span><\/a>, which broke the cancellation news<\/span>, did not give an explanation for why the streamer didn\u2019t pick up the sitcom for another season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

HIMYM, which ran from 2005 to 2014, revolved around a group of friends living in New York whose adventures were narrated by Ted Mosby\u2019s future self, as he recounted to his two children the story of how he fell for their mother.<\/span><\/p>\n

The show\u2019s spin-off<\/a>, HIMYF, used a similar framing device, with Sex and the City\u2019s Kim Cattrall providing the narration as the future version of Sophie (Duff).<\/span><\/p>\n
