With Ahsoka acting as a direct continuation of Star Wars: Rebels<\/a>, most characters in the live-action series<\/a> are familiar faces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One figure, however, has been shrouded in mystery since marketing for the Star Wars<\/span><\/a> series began, with s<\/span>peculation rife over who Marrok \u2013 a cryptic Inquisitor sporting a mask \u2013 really is.<\/span><\/p>\n

Potential candidates have included a de-canonised fan favourite, a fallen Jedi from the prequel era, and even a treasured friend of lead character <\/span>Ahsoka Tano<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the ongoing Marrok mystery took an unexpected turn in episode 4 of Ahsoka<\/a>, which has now landed on Disney Plus,<\/a> shedding more light on the character.<\/span><\/p>\n

With that in mind, read on for what we know so far about Marrok in Ahsoka<\/a> and all the latest rumours for who could be under the mask, as well as what happens to the character in episode 4.<\/p>\n

Who is Marrok in Ahsoka?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The current identity of Marrok is unknown, but we do know that they\u2019re a former <\/span>Imperial Inquisitor \u2013 we\u2019ve seen others in shows including Star Wars: Rebels and Obi-Wan Kenobi<\/a>, as well as the Jedi: Fallen Order games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We also know that the villain works alongside Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, <\/span>carrying out dark deeds with their double-sided red lightsaber, but beyond that their role in the show is unclear.<\/p>\n

The official character description on StarWars.com<\/a> reads: <\/span>\u201cOnce an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by <\/span>Morgan Elsbeth<\/span> to carry out dark deeds. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFully encased in battered battle armour, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Marrok can be spotted lingering in the background in Ahsoka episode 1 and, in <\/span>episode 2, they face off against Ahsoka in a brief duel in Corellia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just before the battle, Baylan just tells Morgan Elsbeth: \u201cMarrok will complete his task.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In episode 3, Marrok is involved in an epic dogfight that very nearly costs Ahsoka and Sabine their lives, in which the sinister foe utters two lines \u2013 \u201cas you wish\u201d and \u201cnothing\u201d \u2013 which admittedly give us little indication of his identity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marrok also makes an intriguing appearance in episode 4, which we\u2019ve unpacked below.<\/p>

What happens to Marrok in Ahsoka episode 4?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ahsoka and Marrok go head to head once again in episode 4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This time, however, the outcome of their battle seems pretty conclusive, as the former Jedi slashes Marrok with a lightsaber that cuts into his torso.<\/p>\n

The Inquisitor then turns into green mist before his form vanishes completely amidst the fumes. <\/span><\/p>\n

This has led to speculation amongst fans that Marrok could be a creation of sorcerer Morgan Elsbeth\u2019s.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s currently unclear whether this is indeed the case, the green mist certainly indicates that the Nightsisters\u2019 magick is involved somehow.<\/p>\n

A transformation as a result of magick is also a convincing theory given that in Arthurian legend, Marrok is the name of a knight transformed into a wolf by a witch tied to Morgan le Fay.<\/p>\n

Who plays Marrok in Ahsoka?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Paul Darnell<\/strong> portrays the man inside Inquisitor Marrok\u2019s suit.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, at this stage, it\u2019s unknown whether we\u2019ll ever see Marrok unmasked.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is Marrok actually Starkiller?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
