Hollyoaks has aired on Channel 4 for nearly three decades. <\/p>
In a major schedule shake-up, Channel 4<\/a> is set to remove Hollyoaks<\/a> from its main channel, which will instead continue to air on E4.<\/p>\n Episodes are set to air as normal on E4 and debut 24 hours earlier online, making it the main platform to go to for your latest Hollyoaks fix. It will be the first time in nearly three decades that the soap won\u2019t air on Channel 4.<\/p>\n The new schedule pattern will launch on Monday 25th September, where Hollyoaks is set to go all out with an action-packed episode.<\/p>\n Channel 4\u2019s Chief Content Officer Ian Katz said: \u201cHollyoaks has always been the youngest and most innovative soap so it\u2019s fitting that it should be the first to embrace the changes in the behaviour of younger viewers and switch to a genuinely digital-led release pattern.<\/p> Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt was the first UK soap to move to a stream-first model last year and this is the next phase of that evolution.<\/p>\n \u201cWe hope making Hollyoaks available on YouTube, as well as our own platforms, will introduce a whole new generation to the show.\u201d<\/p>\n The weekend omnibus will continue to air on Channel 4, with all episodes to be uploaded to YouTube the following week.<\/p> \n
