EastEnders recently announced that Walford favourite Alfie Moon (Shane Richie<\/a>) is set to be diagnosed with prostate cancer<\/a> \u2013 and viewers will see Alfie reveal the news on-screen next week.<\/p>\n The BBC<\/a> soap is working with Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support on Alfie\u2019s story, and the star explains that he hopes that it will raise much-needed awareness and offer encouragement for men to get checked.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Alfie is still nursing a broken heart as his ex-wife and soulmate, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), is due to marry Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).<\/p>\n Despite their ongoing rivalry, Phil has been on hand to support Alfie<\/a> through his health scare in recent weeks.
