After much anticipation, Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> is officially back for another year, with 15 celebs competing for the Glitterball for season 21.<\/p>\n Adam Thomas kicked things off, opening the show with his high energy Cha Cha, which went down a treat with the studio audience and his fellow contestants.<\/p>\n There were highs (Angela Rippon\u2019s splits<\/a>) and not-so-highs (Les Dennis<\/a>\u2018 score), but everyone in the Strictly 2023 line-up<\/a> really did give their all for the first live show.<\/p>\n EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier<\/a> brought a tear to dad Jeff Brazier\u2019s eye<\/a> with his adorable Foxtrot, Layton Williams<\/a> dazzled the judges with an extremely sassy Samba with his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin<\/a> and Nigel Harman<\/a> and Katya Jones topped the leaderboard with a massive 32 points from the judges.<\/p> Luckily for the celebs, no one goes home in Week 1, although professional Giovanni Pernice wishes that someone was being eliminated<\/a>, telling RadioTimes.com<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s a shame that this week there is no elimination, because I wanted somebody to go home.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite Giovanni\u2019s eagerness to get on with whittling down the competition, the scores from Week 1 will instead be combined with the Week 2 scores, after which the public will get to vote for their favourite celeb based on both dances.<\/p>\n The votes will be revealed on Sunday 1st October, and the two celebs with the fewest votes will find themselves in the dance off.<\/p>\n Both will perform for a second time and the judges will have to decide who to keep in the competition, while the other contestant will be sent packing.<\/p>\n But if you want to remind yourself of all the scores from Week 1, read on.<\/p>\nStrictly Come Dancing 2023 leaderboard \u2013 Week 1<\/strong><\/h2>\n
