Actor Adam Thomas<\/a> will make his official Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> debut this weekend when he takes to the dance floor with his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk<\/a> to perform their first live dance.<\/p>\n The former Emmerdale star has been open about his health issues and previously revealed that he was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune and inflammatory disease in which your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake, often targeting the joints.<\/p>\n In an exclusive interview with RadioTimes.com<\/a>, Adam revealed how Strictly is supporting him with his condition.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cWe have a physio team, so I\u2019ve literally just got a physio now. I\u2019ve been talking with the physio team in Manchester as well where I\u2019m training, so I\u2019ve been to see them a couple of times as well and we\u2019re just keeping on top of it.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, I\u2019m dealing with arthritis, so it\u2019s just a different sort of thing that I\u2019m dealing with, but we\u2019re all working together on what\u2019s best for me. The physio team and Luba as well \u2013 it\u2019s a big team effort. We\u2019re just trying to get the best out of the situation that I\u2019m in.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Adam\u2019s comments comes after the 35-year-old was spotted wearing a wrist support just days before the live shows.<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI think that the good thing about Strictly Come Dancing is that everyone\u2019s in pain as well! So it makes you feel like you\u2019re not just going through this on your own but it is what it is.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve got rheumatoid arthritis which I\u2019m dealing with. There\u2019s some things that we can and cannot do. It\u2019s painful, there\u2019s no denying that, but we\u2019re dealing with it and everyone here has been amazing \u2013 the physio and the team. And I\u2019m in very good hands.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be fine on Saturday night. I just don\u2019t know how long it will carry on, but we\u2019ll see,\u201d he added.<\/p> Adam previously opened up about how his arthritis is affecting training, admitting: \u201cThere\u2019s not been a day that I\u2019ve woken up without being in pain.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be honest, its impact is already here. It\u2019s difficult, you know, there\u2019s some stuff that I can\u2019t necessarily do. Stuff that I\u2019m in pain doing.<\/p>\n \u201cI think since January, there\u2019s not been a day that I\u2019ve woken up without being in pain \u2013 as drastic as it sounds, it\u2019s the truth.
