Amanda Abbington made a glorious first impression with the judges<\/a> on Week 1 of Strictly Come Dancing 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dancing a Viennese waltz to Pointless by Lewis Capaldi, Abbington scored 29 points<\/a> alongside her dance partner Giovanni Pernice<\/a>.<\/p>\n Before she wowed the judges on the dance floor, RadioTimes.com<\/a> caught up with the Sherlock<\/a> actor, where she revealed she would be \u201cgutted\u201d if she was the first celebrity to leave the show.<\/p> As per Strictly tradition, no couple leaves the dancing competition in the first week, but the heat is on in Week 2.<\/p>\n When asked how she\u2019d feel if she was the first to be eliminated from Strictly, Abbington said: \u201cI would be gutted.\u201d<\/p>\n Her dancing partner, Giovanni Pernice, echoed her sentiment and said: \u201cWe\u2019re not going home, there\u2019s no question \u2013 we are not the first couple to go.<\/p>\n \u201cUnless something happens, I don\u2019t think we\u2019ll be the first to go. I will leave the country, I would change careers. I can\u2019t imagine going first.\u201d<\/p>\n After Week 1, Amanda and Giovanni are in second place with 29 points<\/a>. They follow Nigel Harman<\/a> and Katya Jones, who scored a whopping 32 points in their first dance of the season.<\/p>
