Here’s everything you need to know about Bake Off 2023 contestant Tasha. <\/p>

Mixing bowls at the ready \u2013 because the Great British Bake Off<\/a> will soon be back on our screens! <\/span>\n<\/span>\n<\/span>The Channel 4 show will return on Tuesday 26th September, and we already can\u2019t wait to see what this year\u2019s lineup<\/a> gets up to in the famous white tent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the 2023 cast is 27-year-old Tasha \u2013 who also just so happens to be the show\u2019s first ever deaf contestant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Joined by her BSL interpreter Daryl, the participation officer has spoken warmly of the show\u2019s inclusion of her disability \u2013 and judge Prue Leith<\/a> revealed she had great fun learning sign language to speak to her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPaul was terrific and he learnt a lot,\u201d she revealed. \u201cI just about managed to learn how to say \u2018good luck\u2019 and \u2018well done\u2019!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Keen traveller Tasha went on holiday with some friends after learning she would be appearing on the show as a contestant \u2013 but while she had to keep it a secret, she very nearly gave the game away when one of them was teasing her about missing the Bake Off application deadline!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was actually her work manager who encouraged her to go for the opportunity, and she says: \u201cThey were the one who basically made sure I got the application in \u2013 by badgering me on WhatsApp after every advert at the end of the Season 13 episodes!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Tasha is the competition\u2019s first ever deaf contestant, and says she found it very emotional to see her British Sign Language interpreter, Daryl, among the rest of her co-stars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was also a big moment when Noel introduced not only Alison, but also Daryl as part of the line-up,\u201d she admits. \u201cSeeing Daryl up at the front and feeling fully part of the show was a really special moment. I couldn\u2019t have done it without him and without the dedication from the show ensuring I had the same access as the other bakers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>
