Sally Dynevor has offered a preview of Coronation Street\u2019s<\/a> huge upcoming week, which sees Stephen Reid\u2019s (Todd Boyce) killer crimes finally exposed<\/a> to the locals.<\/p>\n

The news comes just as the star\u2019s alter ego Sally Metcalfe\u2019s husband Tim (Joe Duttine) disappears.\u00a0While Sal initially thinks that Tim has abandoned her on their wedding anniversary to go drinking, panic sets in when he fails to return home the next day.<\/p>\n

Speaking to RadioTimes.com<\/a> and other media at a recent press event, Dynevor, who has played Corrie icon Sally for 37 years, explains what\u2019s going through her character\u2019s mind at this point. \u201cTim would always get in touch with Sally. I think Sally thinks, \u2018He would have rang me at this point, if he was hungover.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this is the next day, so now I think she is really, really worrying about him: \u2018Where is he, why hasn\u2019t he got in contact with me, where\u2019s his phone?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, poor Tim has been caught snooping by Stephen<\/a>, who tries to strangle Tim in his own cab! Stephen then knocks him unconscious with a brick \u2013 but has he killed Tim? We can\u2019t tell you that, but there\u2019s plenty more to delve into while we wait for the episodes to air.<\/p>\n

As gossip about Stephen spreads, there\u2019s a big turning point for Sally. \u201cIt\u2019s only [when] she\u2019s in\u2026 I think I\u2019m in Roy\u2019s Rolls with Gail, when Elaine comes in and says that the Platts have all been chatting, and [Stephen] has murdered people that he didn\u2019t get on with.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt clicks with Sally,\u201d reveals the actress. \u201cShe goes, \u2018Oh my God, he never got on with Tim!’\u201d<\/p>\n

As for what happens next, it looks like Sally is very much at the heart of the story.\u00a0\u201cSally and Gail and Elaine hear about the body at the canal, and decide that they\u2019re going to take a walk and see what\u2019s going on.<\/p>

\u201cAfter the canal, they go to the police station and they tell the police everything they know, and say, \u2018Is that body Tim\u2019s?\u2019 Sally comes out with it and just says, \u2018You have to tell me, he\u2019s my husband,\u2019 and he says, \u2018No, it\u2019s actually not your husband, because he\u2019s only been missing a couple of nights and this body\u2019s been in there a while.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cSo there\u2019s a bit of relief, but Sally has no idea what\u2019s happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

That relief is short-lived when DS Swain (Vicky Myers) takes Sally to one side to tell her of a chilling discovery. \u201cShe takes her through to the back and she says, \u2018Look, we did find this,\u2019 and it\u2019s Tim\u2019s wallet that Sally got him for [their] anniversary,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo then, obviously, Sally\u2019s really, really worried, and then I\u2019m sure she really believes that Stephen has got something to do with this. [She\u2019s] confused by it all; what happened? Is he still alive? Has Stephen got him?\u201d<\/p>\n

Until now, Sally has always been very obviously impressed by Stephen. It\u2019s brought out a side in Sally that we all love. But as the penny drops about his evil deeds, Dynevor teases, everything changes.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything\u2019s coming together. She is definitely starting to worry about if Stephen\u2019s involved in Tim\u2019s disappearance. But she\u2019s got no idea what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, Sally\u2019s always liked Stephen, she\u2019s been saying to Tim all along, \u2018He\u2019s a nice guy, I work with him, I don\u2019t know why you dislike him so much!\u2019 Tim really hates him, and has tried to dissuade his mum [from going] out with him, but Sally could never see that, she just sees a really nice guy!<\/p>\n

\u201cThere does become a point where, obviously, Stephen\u2019s missing and everyone\u2019s worried about what he\u2019s done and who the body is in the canal. So I think all those things are now suddenly coming to light, and she is kind of seeing him for what he is. But again, still, I\u2019m not sure she knows that Tim is with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
