Armitage was speaking with this week\u2019s issue of Radio Times magazine<\/a>, and he was quick to dispel any rumours that he has been approached to take on the tuxedo.<\/p>\n \u201cOh, every three weeks there\u2019s a newspaper story about that,\u201d Armitage said. \u201cMy nephew still asks if I\u2019m going to be James Bond, and I say, \u2018No. You just read it in a paper.’\u201d<\/p>\n Armitage did add that Bond is an \u201camazing role\u201d, but said he would probably be \u201cmore likely to be tempted towards playing the villain\u201d.<\/p>\n Armitage isn\u2019t the only one to seemingly count themselves out from playing Ian Fleming\u2019s legendary spy<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last year, Idris Elba revealed<\/a> that playing Bond is \u201cnot a goal for my career\u201d, adding that it wouldn\u2019t \u201csatisfy some of my personal goals\u201d.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n He explained: \u201cI feel it is beyond me at this junction. It\u2019s beyond me. You know, it\u2019s not a question of, \u2018Should I?\u2019, \u2018Do I?\u2019, \u2018Will I?\u2019. It is what the will of the nation dictates, sometimes.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not that guy, but in everyone\u2019s world I might be. And that \u2013 job done. Because the truth is, you know, a lot of people are really seeing Idris playing Bond as the \u2018alternative Bond\u2019.
