Panorama will air a report about the former CEO of fashion brand Abercrombie & Fitch.\u00a0 <\/p>
The BBC has finally confirmed the subject of its forthcoming Panorama special<\/a>, which is set to air tonight (Monday 2nd October).<\/span><\/p>\n After initially keeping details of the episode under wraps, the BBC updated its schedule page for BBC One on Monday afternoon ahead of its release.<\/p>\n Titled The Abercrombie Guys: The Dark Side of Cool, the episode will investigate \u201callegations of exploitation and abuse at the top of one of the biggest fashion brands in the US\u201d.<\/p>\n The official description on the BBC One schedule page continues: \u201cFormer CEO Mike Jeffries transformed Abercrombie and Fitch from a failing retail chain to a multi-billion dollar empire and the epitome of cool.<\/p>\n \u201cNow after months of painstaking investigation, reporter Rianna Croxford speaks to men who say they were recruited into a dark world, created to satisfy the sexual fantasies of Mike Jeffries and his British partner Matthew Smith.<\/p> \u201cSilenced for years by the fear of breaking non-disclosure agreements, these men describe feeling exploited and traumatised by their experience.<\/p>\n \u201cOne high profile American lawyer has called for prosecutors to investigate.\u201d<\/p>\n Mr Jeffries and Mr Smith did not respond to BBC<\/a> requests for comment. Abercrombie & Fitch has told the BBC that it was \u201cappalled and disgusted\u201d by the alleged behaviour and that the company has \u201czero tolerance for abuse, harassment or discrimination of any kind\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n It was announced last Tuesday (26th September) that an unexpected special edition of Panorama is due to air tonight, but its subject remained a mystery, sparking speculation and curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n The announcement for the upcoming show simply repeated a general overview of what Panorama is and read: \u201cSpecial Investigative documentary.\u201d<\/p>\n These allegations emerged following a three-year joint investigation conducted by The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4\u2019s Dispatches.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Channel 4 did not reveal any details about the episode before it aired, although Brand issued a video statement announcing \u2018very serious allegations\u2019 were being made against him that he \u2018absolutely\u2019 denied.<\/span><\/p>
