Taylor has no regrets about calling off the engagement. <\/p>

Something that confused all Love Is Blind<\/a> season 5 viewers was JP and Taylor\u2019s incredibly awkward honeymoon, especially the moment when JP gave a reason for his lack of communication.<\/p>\n

JP and Taylor were the first couple of season 5 to get engaged, and while everything seemed rosy in the pods, their luxurious honeymoon took a turn for the worse when JP hardly spoke to Taylor.<\/p>\n

As the days went on, Taylor began to notice a lack of affection from JP and couldn\u2019t quite put her finger on why he was being so distant until JP finally confessed.<\/p>\n

JP admitted he felt uncomfortable by the amount of make-up Taylor wore during their post-pod reveal \u2013 and the couple\u2019s engagement was over before it had even begun.<\/p>\n

Following the episode\u2019s launch on Netflix<\/a>, JP has since doubled down on his comments, despite saying he didn\u2019t want to insult Taylor.<\/p>

\u201cIn hindsight, what I said and the way I said it might not have conveyed what I was really feeling,\u201d he told Tudum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cShe took it as an insult, but I was trying to be genuine and say, \u2018Hey, I think you look really pretty without make-up, and if you\u2019re trying to impress me, you don\u2019t really need the whole facade to make yourself look good for me.\u2019 But it didn\u2019t come off that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The firefighter still stands by his comments that Taylor\u2019s reveal caught him off guard.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just kind of taken aback by all the make-up, eyelashes, and everything,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cIf it would\u2019ve been a more natural look, it might\u2019ve been less awkward.\u201d<\/p>\n
