There will be one less routine than expected on Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>\u00a0tonight, with Amanda Abbington<\/a> set to miss the episode for medical reasons.<\/p>\n The news that the actor and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice would not be taking to the dancefloor this week was announced by Janette Manrara during last night\u2019s episode of spin-off series It Takes Two.<\/p>\n Although she did not specify the nature of the medical issue, Manrara explained that \u201call being well, Amanda and Giovanni will return the following week.\u201d<\/p> And she added: \u201cAmanda, we hope you get well soon, my love, sending you all the best wishes.\u201d<\/p>\n Amanda and Giovanni had been due to perform a Cha Cha to Canned Heat by Jamiroquai and would have been hoping to follow up last week\u2019s impressive Foxtrot to Fleetwood Mac hit Everywhere.<\/p>\n That routine had seen her score 31 points, which put her in joint fourth on the Strictly leaderboard<\/a> and was her second-highest total of the season so far \u2013 just one point less than the 32 points she received for her Salsa to Gloria Estefan\u2019s Oye in week 2.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n Despite Amanda\u2019s absence, there will still be plenty of exciting routines to look forward to in tonight\u2019s show as the rest of the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 line-up<\/a> looks to impress the judging panel and the viewing public at home.<\/p>\n Last week Jody Cundy<\/a> became the third contestant to leave the competition after competing in the dreaded dance-off with Eddie Kadi<\/a>, with the Paralympian joining\u00a0Les Dennis<\/a> and Nikita Kanda<\/a> in exiting the series.<\/p>\n At the other end of the leaderboard, Layton Williams<\/a> wowed the judges with his sensational Cha Cha<\/a> last week, while Nigel Harman,<\/a>\u00a0Adam Thomas<\/a>, and Angela Rippon<\/a> were among the other celebrities to score highly.<\/p> \n
