Show bosses were keen to not break the fourth wall. <\/p>

James Bond producer Gregg Wilson has explained why the new reality TV series 007: Road To A Million<\/a> will not feature any characters that fans know and love.<\/p>\n

007: Road To A Million is a high stakes competition like no other. Debuting on Prime Video next month, the series will see nine pairs of everyday people head on an \u201cepic global adventure\u201d filled with James Bond<\/a>-inspired challenges.<\/p>\n

As the 18 contestants take on the tasks, they\u2019re in with the chance of winning a huge \u00a31,000,000 cash prize.<\/p>

As the show features a number of superspy-influenced challenges, there will be several Easter eggs dotted along for fans to spot.<\/p>\n

However, there will be no actual characters from the espionage film franchise.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Times magazine<\/strong>, 007: Road to a Million executive producer Gregg Wilson explained that it was important to strike a balance between including Bond Easter eggs for fans and real Bond locations, but not \u2018breaking the fourth wall\u2019 by including characters from the films.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be breaking through the fourth wall to have characters from the movie franchise,\u201d Wilson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur contestants are real people, and if they interacted with people from a fictional world, it would feel strange.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it all takes place in the real world, but there\u2019s this Bond villain puppet master who is dangling prize money in front of these contestants in very outlandish ways. Brian [Cox] has really elevated it to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n
Succession<\/a>\u2018s Cox will feature as The Controller in 007: Road To A Million, the mastermind behind the game who will be watching the pairs hunt for the 10 questions he has hidden around the world.<\/p>\n
Talking about his role in the competition show, Cox said: \u201cI enjoyed my role as both villain and tormentor, with license to put the hopeful participants through the mangle.\u201d<\/p>\n
