If you\u2019ve been playing Cities: Skylines 2 for a significant amount of time, you\u2019ll have noticed how realistic everything is.<\/p>\n

And we\u2019re not just talking about the awesome graphics and exquisitely detailed architecture, but the annoying things, too. For example, the issue of high rent. Realistic, sure, but a pain.<\/p>\n

As your city grows, rent prices will soar (a familiar story), and your virtual population will suffer.<\/p>\n

Is this just a fact of life, or is there something (outside of a virtual revolution) we can do about this?<\/p>\n

Fortunately, there are<\/em> a few ways to fix high rent in Cities: Skylines 2 \u2013 here\u2019s how.<\/p>

How to fix High Rent in Cities: Skylines 2 explained<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It will please you to find out that fixing the issue of high rent is simpler in Cities: Skylines 2 than it is for your physical abode. In fact, there are a few ways to get rent down.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll list a few of them:<\/p>\n

  • Remove services, thereby lowering land values in the area<\/strong> \u2013 if you get rid of nearby conveniences, a property will lose value. Simple!<\/li>\n
  • Work on your education facilities early<\/strong> \u2013 don\u2019t wait to start building up the schooling system. If your population gets a better education, they\u2019re more likely to have money to pay the rent.<\/li>\n
  • Simply lower taxes<\/strong> \u2013 a bit of a radical one, this\u2026 lowering taxes will obviously decrease your income, but the population will thank you. You only need to lower taxes on low income households for the issue at hand.<\/li>\n
  • Bulldoze the building and build another one<\/strong> \u2013 we\u2019ll finish with a hack, but it\u2019s a hack that works. It doesn\u2019t fix the underlying issue, but if you reset the building you\u2019ll reset the rent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>
