The Crown creator Peter Morgan<\/a>\u00a0has revealed he has an idea for a prequel of the hit royal period drama.<\/p>\n

The sixth season of the series will be its last, with the first part launching on Netflix on Thursday 16th November, exploring the death of Princess Diana and the lasting effects it had on her family.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Variety<\/a>, Morgan admitted he does \u201chave an idea\u201d for a prequel series of The Crown<\/a>, which would date back to well before Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s reign.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, I need to do some other things. Second, it would need a unique set of circumstances to come together,\u201d he told the publication.<\/p>

He explained further that if he were to \u201cgo back into The Crown, it would definitely be to go back in time\u201d.<\/p>\n

All six seasons of The Crown have covered key parts of the current royal family\u2019s history, including the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, their relationship with Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister, the introduction of Princess Diana and much more.<\/p>\n

Ted Sarandos, the managing director of Netflix, told Variety<\/a> that he has \u201cabsolute faith\u201d in Morgan, and that \u201cif he believes there are stories to be told there, we definitely would explore it\u201d.<\/p>\n
