It\u2019s one of the best times of the year to be a Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> fan as the show celebrates Halloween with yet another impressive show packed full of costumes, epic dance routines and more.<\/p>\n

There were some seriously strong dances this week from Ellie Leach<\/a>, Layton Williams<\/a> and Angela Rippon<\/a>, with judge Craig Revel Horwood even stunning fans with his surprise high score<\/a> for the latter\u2019s Murder, She Wrote-themed dance.<\/p>\n

It was a jam-packed night so for all the highlights from Strictly Come Dancing Week 6, you can check out our handy video above.<\/p>\n

Last night\u2019s show was the first since the surprise exit by Amanda Abbington<\/a> and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.<\/p>\n

It opened with an emotional message from Claudia Winkleman<\/a>, who acknowledged Amanda\u2019s departure which was announced earlier in the week on account of \u201c personal reasons<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n

After we got acquainted with the contestants\u2019s spooky get-ups, Angela Scanlon<\/a> and Carlos Gu opened up the show with a Black Swan-inspired Paso Doble that \u201cset the tone for the evening\u201d, according to head judge Shirley Ballas.<\/p>\n

They set the bar high for the night, scoring an impressive 33 for their routine before the \u201chighest American Smooth of the series\u201d was executed by actor Adam Thomas<\/a> and his partner Luba Mushtuk, who played a pair of wizards on the night.<\/p>

After facing the dance-off in last week\u2019s episode, Zara McDermott<\/a> was back for a Charleston to Jeepers Creepers by Al Donahue and his Orchestra. The routine was cheered on from the sidelines by Zara\u2019s boyfriend Sam Thompson and his sister Louise, but the routine failed to captivate the judges as Zara bagged the lowest score of the night.<\/p>\n

Next up, fan-favourite Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin took on a vampire-themed Tango to Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s song of the same name which got a standing ovation from the audience.<\/p>\n

The judges beamed with praise as Craig called the performance a \u201ctheatrical triumph\u201d but pointed out some minor mistakes, including a rogue thumb of Layton\u2019s sticking out throughout the routine. The pair ended up at second place on the leaderboard.<\/p>\n

While other performances on the night provided a mix of scary and joyous costumes, Nigel Harman<\/a> and partner Katya Jones failed to completely wow the judges, as well as newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Lauren Oakley who scored 27.<\/p>\n
