The love for Alex Kingston\u2019s<\/a> River Song in Doctor Who<\/a> is just as alive now as it was when she burst onto our screens more than a decade ago.<\/p>\n

As the Doctor\u2019s wife, she became one of the most beloved characters of all time, meeting various different incarnations of the Time Lord in the wrong order.<\/a><\/p>\n

Celebrating the show\u2019s upcoming 60th anniversary, the actress answered some burning questions from Doctor Who fans \u2013 and, staying true to character, revealed that she\u2019s holding some pretty big spoilers in.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favourite aspect of River Song?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cShe has the most fantastic one liners. I think it\u2019s her her naughtiness, but always ultimately, her love. She has this unconditional love for the Doctor \u2013 but she she can also be naughty.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s it been like working with all the different Doctors at Big Finish and how has that developed River\u2019s character?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cThe community at Big Finish have also become a family. I\u2019ve worked on a lot of stories over the years and it\u2019s, it\u2019s just so much fun. The freedom, actually, that you have with audio is quite extraordinary, because of course, the writers can really go to town with their imagination, because they don\u2019t need to think about filming budgets or anything like that and you\u2019re just in a sound booth and you have to create that world then alongside all the special effects that are edited on to the story afterwards.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been really fun and I\u2019ve been able to work with all of the Doctors. And also we\u2019ve been able to just take River Song\u2019s diary and run with that and have a whole different set of stories where she\u2019s actually living her own adventures, living through her own adventures without the Doctor because, of course, that was one of the things that I would always kind of think about was \u2018what\u2019s River doing when she\u2019s not having an adventure with a Doctor\u2019?<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously she\u2019s up to something and knowing her personality, she wouldn\u2019t sort of just be sitting at home mopping the floors or knitting or something! She would be off. And so I love the fact that we\u2019ve been able to sort of investigate her life away from the Doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n
