Broadcaster and former tennis star Annabel Croft<\/a> has explained how appearing on Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> this year has helped her following the death of her husband \u2013 giving her a reason \u201cto get up in the morning\u201d.<\/p>\n Mel Coleman \u2013 to whom she had been married for 30 years \u2013 died from cancer earlier this year and, speaking during an appearance on Good Morning Britain yesterday (Friday 3rd November), Croft revealed how she was \u201cgrateful\u201d to be part of the Strictly line-up<\/a>.<\/p> \u201cIt\u2019s come at such an incredibly dark time in my life,\u201d she explained. \u201cI don\u2019t where I would be without it.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cI always said that I never really knew grief. I had no concept of it. It\u2019s given me a reason to be able to get up in the morning and have purpose rather than just sobbing at home, which does still happen sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n Ahead of the season, she had revealed how she hoped taking part in the show would help her \u201cfind some joy\u201d again.<\/p>\n Read more:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI think, what an amazing time to try and find some joy, and just to be thrown into something to take your mind off things,\u201d she told the Evening Standard<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n Last week Annabel and her professional partner Johannes Radebe finished eighth in the Strictly leaderboard<\/a> with a score of 29 \u2013 and they\u2019ll be hoping to climb a few places in the standings with their Couple\u2019s Choice routine to Wings by Birdy this week.<\/p> \n
