The BBC has confirmed that Strictly Come Dancing 2021<\/a>\u00a0will return later this month on Saturday 18th September.<\/p>\n

The broadcaster tweeted the news on Friday, using a short clip of Strictly contestant Tom Fletcher using a judge\u2019s score paddle to reveal the 15 days left to go.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe countdown is ON! Only 15 days to go until Tom Fletcher and our Strictly stars hit the dance floor,\u201d read the tweet.<\/p>\n

The announcement follows an unofficial reveal earlier in the week, after BBC Breakfast\u2019s Dan Walker let slip the Strictly launch date<\/a> while on-air during Wednesday\u2019s show.<\/p>\n

The presenter, who joined the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 line-up<\/a> last month, let slip the launch date to co-anchor Louise Minchin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just going to put your date in the diary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI meet and greet the partner in a couple of days time, and actually the first show is on the 18th and then the live shows start on the 25th.\u201d<\/p>\n

The September launch date will see a return to normality for Strictly producers, after the show\u2019s start was pushed back to October last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Both Walker and Fletcher will be taking to the Strictly dance floor this year alongside the likes of comedian Robert Webb<\/a>, Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty<\/a>, Loose Women\u2019s Judi Love<\/a> and TV presenter AJ Odudu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other celebrities set to make their Strictly debut include Gordon Ramsay\u2019s daughter Tilly Ramsay<\/a>, The Crown\u2019s Greg Wise<\/a>, EastEnders star Nina Wadia<\/a> and former Bake Off contestant John Whaite<\/a>, who\u2019ll be competing in the show\u2019s very first all-male partnership.<\/p>
