Taylor Swift continues to make history with her music, with her re-recorded version of her 2014 album 1989 now the top-selling album in America for 2023 in the first week of its release.<\/span><\/p>\n

The album, 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version), has soared to the top of the Billboard 200 album chart, with over 1.6 million units in the US and over 3.5 million globally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This achievement makes her the first artist to score six No. 1 album debuts, with over 1 million units sold in history.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new record beats the first-week sales of the original 1989, making it the first Taylor Version<\/a> to score a bigger debut than the original.<\/span><\/p>

The reworked 1989 also had the biggest album sales week of 2023, surpassing Speak Now (Taylor\u2019s Version) and Midnights, and giving her the three top selling albums of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The records don\u2019t stop there, however, as she is also the first female artist to score 13 No. 1 album debuts on the Billboard 200.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swift<\/a> has also broken records on the music streaming services, becoming Spotify\u2019s most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify\u2019s history when 1989 (Taylor\u2019s Version) was released on 27th October.<\/span><\/p>\n
