John Lewis has finally unveiled its Christmas advert for 2023, and it\u2019s a good one, starring Snapper the Venus flytrap.<\/p>\n

The advert shows a young boy called Alfie who wishes to grow the perfect Christmas tree (as we saw in the retailer\u2019s teaser) but instead grows a Venus flytrap which looks like one instead!<\/p>\n

After nurturing the seed, Alfie soon discovers it isn\u2019t a Christmas tree at all, but a carnivorous plant \u2013 but he loves it anyway.<\/p>\n\nThe advert follows the usual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/john-lewis-christmas-advert-2023\/\">John Lewis<\/a> montage format where Alfie and Snapper prepare for Christmas, with the latter donning a golden star.<\/p>\nWhile Alfie loves Snapper dearly, his family doesn\u2019t quite understand the appeal and asks him to ditch the tree, preferring the usual style.<\/p>\nRead more:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/best-christmas-adverts-2023\/\">Best Christmas adverts 2023<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiotimes.com\/tv\/entertainment\/amazon-christmas-advert-the-beatles-newsupdate\/\">Amazon Christmas ad to launch with The Beatles cover song<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nAlfie isn\u2019t very happy (of course he isn\u2019t, after all the work he\u2019s put in), and the sentiment of the advert comes from Snapper resting a little hand on the window glass while looking at his friend.<\/p>\nWho could resist after that?
