This year’s event will commemorate the “significant anniversaries of two crucial historical battles”. <\/p>

As today marks Remembrance Day, The Royal British Legion are commemorating all those who have lost their lives in conflicts.<\/p>\n

The Festival of Remembrance is a celebration of \u201cservice, unity and camaraderie\u201d, and will reflect on the nation\u2019s \u201cadmiration for our Armed Forces\u201d, which will air on TV tonight.<\/p>\n

As per The Royal British Legion\u2019s website<\/a>, the annual Festival of Remembrance takes place this year to \u201cpay tribute to the two million National Servicemen who served in the post-war years up until 1963\u201d.<\/p>\n

During the 2023 Festival of Remembrance, the Legion acknowledges \u201cthe unique contribution of the Windrush Generation\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe honour too those who served in the Battle of the Atlantic 80 years ago, the longest campaign of the Second World War,\u201d its website reads.<\/p>\n

The Festival will also \u201csalute the courage and resilience of those fighting back from horrible injury or vulnerability and of the families, friends and carers alongside them\u201d.<\/p>\n

There are two performances taking place, and here\u2019s how you can watch the Festival on television.<\/p>

The Festival of Remembrance will be available to watch on BBC One at 9pm tonight (Saturday 11th November)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hosted by Clare Balding, singers including Mica Paris, Calum Scott, Colin Thackery, Alfie Boe, Katie Melua and and 14-year-old opera singer Malaki will be performing at the festival.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event will commemorate the \u201csignificant anniversaries of two crucial historical battles\u201d, The Battle of the Atlantic and the Korean War.<\/p>\n

Veterans from both wars will be present.<\/p>\n

The Festival will also pay tribute to the 75th anniversary of the HMT Empire Windrush\u2019s arrival. It will honour \u201cthe extraordinary contributions of the Windrush generation to the military\u201d.<\/p>\n

Past and present military personnel will come together at the Festival to be \u201chonoured for their service and dedication in defending out freedoms and way of life\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tributes will also be paid to victims of war and remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.<\/p>
