The fifth series of Rick and Morty<\/a> is set to draw to a close this week, and ahead of the two-part finale Adult Swim has posted an ingenious \u2013 but rather mysterious \u2013 15-second teaser trailer.<\/p>\n The short clip sees the titular space travelers step through a portal into Rick\u2019s garage, but there\u2019s one major difference from the Rick and Morty we\u2019re used to seeing: they\u2019re live-action!<\/p>\n Given that Rick Sanchez is based on iconic Back to the Future character Doc Emmett Brown, it\u2019s no surprise that Christopher Lloyd has been brought in to play the eccentric scientist, while the role of Morty is portrayed by Knives Out\u00a0and\u00a0It\u00a0actor Jaeden Martell.<\/p>\n \u201cMorty, we\u2019re home!\u201d Rick says, complete with a couple of his trademark belches, before his rather less excited grandson mutters, \u201cAw geez\u201d.<\/p>\n C-132 #rickandmorty<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/oq54C9C5TW<\/a><\/p>\u2014 adult swim (@adultswim) September 3, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote> It\u2019s not clear if the clip is just a fun promo idea or if it offers some hints as to what might happen in the series closer\u00a0 \u2013 with some fans suggesting we might even get to see the live-action versions in the show itself.<\/p>\n The video is titled C-132, which means we do<\/em> know this live-action Rick is not the same one that appears in the show, with the version we\u2019re used to seeing classified as C-137.<\/p>\n But given the characters exist in an infinite multiverse, there\u2019s every possibility that these live-action versions could make an appearance in the finale \u2013 which would certainly be a thrilling way to close out the series.<\/p> Interestingly, Lloyd has previously gone on record to state his enjoyment of the show \u2013 even suggesting that he would love to take part.<\/p>\n
